The Jaipur fixture featured several notable milestones. Rajasthan’s 15-year-old opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi struck four sixes in the very first over of the innings, bowled by Hyderabad pacer Praful Hinj. This marked the first instance in IPL history of four sixes being hit in the opening over of an innings. Hyderabad responded with two sixes in their own first over, bringing the total number of sixes in the opening overs of a single match to six—an occurrence not previously recorded in recognised T20 cricket.

In the Delhi match, Lokesh Rahul delivered an outstanding individual performance, scoring an unbeaten 152 from 67 deliveries for Delhi Capitals against Punjab. This innings stands as the highest score by an Indian in IPL history and the third-highest overall in the tournament. It is also the highest individual score by an Indian in all recognised T20 cricket. Rahul reached his century in 47 balls.

Despite this effort, Delhi failed to secure victory. Their total of 264, the highest in the franchise’s history, was surpassed by Punjab with seven balls remaining. Contributions of 76 from Prabhsimran Singh and an unbeaten 71 from captain Shreyas Iyer enabled Punjab to win by six wickets. This chase represents the highest successful run chase in IPL history as well as in all recognised T20 cricket.

Suryavanshi also delivered a significant performance in the Jaipur match. Having been dismissed for zero in the previous game against Hyderabad, he responded by hitting four sixes in the opening over against the same bowler. He reached a half-century in 15 balls and completed his century in 36 deliveries. In doing so, he set a new record for the fastest to 1,000 runs in T20 cricket, achieving the milestone in 473 balls. He also became the youngest player to reach 1,000 T20 runs.

Additionally, Suryavanshi reached two centuries in just 15 IPL innings. Across T20 cricket, he has scored four centuries in 26 innings, including two among the fastest recorded. After a 35-ball century in the previous year, his 36-ball century in this match makes him the only player in IPL history to register two centuries in fewer than 40 balls.
