Bonus Announced After Series Win

Bangladesh’s national cricket team has been awarded a financial incentive following their One Day International (ODI) series victory against Australia. The State Minister for Youth and Sports, Aminul Haque, has announced a bonus of BDT 20 million for the players. The information was confirmed in an official press release issued by his press secretary, Ashraful Alam.

The announcement comes after Bangladesh secured the series by winning the opening two matches. With an unassailable lead in the three-match ODI series, the hosts are set to play the third and final match with the opportunity to complete a clean sweep against Australia.

This bilateral ODI series marks the first meeting between Bangladesh and Australia in this format after a gap of 16 years. In the opening match, Bangladesh registered a significant victory, defeating Australia by 86 runs under the Duckworth–Lewis–Stern (DLS) method. This result holds particular historical importance, as it represents Bangladesh’s first ODI win over Australia since their notable triumph in Cardiff in 2005.

In the second ODI, Bangladesh continued their winning momentum. The match, also decided under the DLS method, saw Bangladesh secure a five-wicket victory over Australia. This win ensured the series for the home side with a 2–0 lead.

A summary of the first two matches is presented below:
