Salahuddin And Razzak Appointed To BCB HP Coaching Panel

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has finalized a restructured coaching panel for its High-Performance (HP) department ahead of the upcoming home bilateral series against Zimbabwe ‘A’. The BCB HP department serves as a vital development tier designed to reinforce the national team’s talent pipeline. Consequently, the board systematically structures an independent operational layout and competitive schedule for the HP squad every season. For the upcoming cycle, the governing body has initiated an expansive developmental strategy.

As part of this comprehensive restructuring, the prominent domestic coach Mohammad Salahuddin has been appointed as the Head Coach of the BCB HP squad. The board has placed its confidence in the veteran tactician, who possesses previous coaching experience within the senior national team framework, to lead the developmental roster for the upcoming season. Alongside the appointment of the Head Coach, the BCB has recruited several specialized coaches to revamp the entire coaching staff across various disciplines.

Coaching Staff Allocations and Operational Portfolios

The newly configured coaching panel will formally initiate their respective administrative and field duties with the arrival of the Zimbabwe ‘A’ cricket team. Mohammad Salahuddin will be accompanied by a group of experienced technical specialists. Former West Indies international Corey Collymore retains his role as the Pace Bowling Coach, while Ashik Majumder will manage defensive operations as the Fielding Coach.

Sohel Islam has been integrated into the staff as the Assistant Coach, and former national left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak will oversee the slow-bowling department as the Spin Bowling Coach. This assignment represents a coordinated effort by the BCB to utilize experienced domestic and international staff to mentor emerging players.

Tour Schedule and Venue Allocations

The international itinerary commences on 3 June 2026, when the Zimbabwe ‘A’ delegation is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka. The bilateral series will feature a mixture of limited-overs and first-class matches distributed across three regional cricketing venues in Bangladesh. The One Day International (ODI) segment of the tour comprises three 50-over matches scheduled for 8, 10, and 13 June 2026, with the matches hosted in the northern divisional cities of Bogra and Rajshahi.

Following the conclusion of the limited-overs series, the competitive format will transition to longer-duration cricket. Zimbabwe ‘A’ and the BCB HP squad will travel to the northeastern region of the country to contest two 4-day first-class fixtures. Both multi-day red-ball matches will be held at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
