Liton Breaks Stumping Record, Surpasses Mushfiq’s Mark!

In a historic moment for Bangladesh cricket, wicketkeeper Liton Das has surpassed Mushfiqur Rahim’s long-standing record for the most stumpings in Test cricket. This milestone underscores Liton’s growing reputation as one of the finest wicketkeepers in Bangladesh’s cricketing history.

The journey toward this landmark began in June 2025, during the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle. Liton equalled Mushfiq’s record of 15 stumpings with the dismissal of Sri Lanka’s Lahiru Udara, a moment that saw both keepers sharing the accolade for the highest number of Test stumpings for Bangladesh.

However, in the ongoing Test against Ireland in Sylhet, Liton went one step further, making the record exclusively his own. On the second day of the match, he executed his 16th stumping, dismissing Lorcan Tucker off the bowling of Hasan Murad. Demonstrating remarkable consistency and sharp reflexes, Liton followed up just four overs later by stumping Andy McBrine off Mehedi Hasan Miraz, bringing his total to 17.
