The second phase of the T20 World Cup, the much-anticipated Super Eight, has reached its full roster with eight teams confirmed. On Wednesday in Colombo, Pakistan secured the final spot by defeating Namibia by 102 runs, rounding off the lineup for this crucial stage of the tournament.
The eight teams advancing to the Super Eight have been divided into two groups of four. Group 1 matches will be hosted in India, while Group 2 matches will take place in Sri Lanka. Each team will begin this stage with a clean slate—points from the earlier round will not carry over. Victories earn a team two points, while a defeat yields no points.
Weather may play a role in match outcomes. If a game is interrupted and at least five overs per side cannot be completed, the match will be declared a ‘no result’, awarding one point to each team. In the event of a tie, a Super Over will determine the winner. Should the Super Over also result in a tie, successive Super Overs will be played until a winner emerges.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, scheduled for 4 and 5 March, with the final set for 8 March.
