Shaun Tait Calls for Calm Focus Ahead of Series-Deciding T20

As Bangladesh prepare for the series-deciding third T20 against Ireland, pace bowling coach Shaun Tait has urged his players to remain calm and concentrate on their natural game. Speaking after Monday’s training session at Chittagong’s Bir Shreshtho Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium, Tait underlined the importance of not overcomplicating their approach.

“I think we should keep things simple,” Tait said. “The key is to play good cricket and aim to win. Each international victory strengthens team confidence, which is vital for a do-or-die game like this.”

This T20 series is Bangladesh’s last bilateral engagement before the T20 World Cup, making the outcome of this match particularly significant. A win would secure the series and allow the team to enter the break and the BPL with a positive mindset. “The most important thing is to play well. We want to take the confidence gained from our last win into the next match. Winning would be the perfect way to head into the break,” Tait added.

He also assessed Ireland’s performance in the series so far. “Ireland have been strong in batting. They have several top-quality players and a well-structured T20 setup,” Tait noted.

Nevertheless, Bangladesh view the challenge as a valuable opportunity. “Big challenges are always good for us. With the T20 World Cup ahead, nothing is bigger in T20 cricket. These matches help us prepare and sharpen our game for that stage,” he said.

The final match promises to be a tense contest, with Bangladesh aiming to conclude the series on a high and build crucial confidence ahead of the World Cup.
