Bangladesh’s disappointment from the T20 series whitewash against the West Indies still lingers. Following the team’s poor performance, BCB’s Chairman of Cricket Operations, Nazmul Abedin Fahim, spoke to the media on Saturday about the team’s situation.
Fahim said, “In the recent T20 series, our consistency took a bit of a hit. Before this, we had won four consecutive series. Normally, we don’t see such inconsistency in our team, so this time it was somewhat of an exception. It’s definitely disappointing, but we have to accept the reality.”
Speaking about Zakir Ali Anik and Nurul Hasan Sohan, Fahim added, “Given the flow our team was in, we expected better performances. Especially in batting, the strength we had shown before didn’t come through this time. Players like Zakir Ali Anik and Nurul Hasan Sohan used to contribute valuable runs in those positions — they even played match-winning innings. But this time, we fell a bit short in those areas.”
