Champion Indian Women’s Team to Receive ₹70 Crore Reward from BCCI

For the first time, India has won the Women’s ODI World Cup. On Sunday, Harmanpreet Kaur’s team defeated South Africa by 52 runs, securing the title. This victory marks the first time India’s women have lifted the World Cup trophy, having reached the final three times previously.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash reward of ₹51 crore for the champion Indian women’s team. In Bangladeshi currency, this amount is approximately 70 crore 55 lakh 50 thousand taka.

BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the reward to the media outlet ANI, stating, “The BCCI will give a cash prize of ₹51 crore to the Indian team from its own funds. This will be distributed among the players, selectors, coaching staff, and support staff.”

In addition to the BCCI’s prize, the Indian cricket team is set to receive nearly ₹55 crore as a monetary reward from the ICC for winning the World Cup. The BCCI’s announcement is separate from this ICC reward.
