BPL 2025–26 Launches in Sylhet

The 12th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has officially kicked off today, bringing a month-long festival of T20 cricket to Bangladesh. The tournament begins in Sylhet, with the grand final scheduled for 23 January 2026 in Dhaka.

This season features six teams—Dhaka Capitals, Sylhet Titans, Chattogram Royals, Rangpur Riders, Rajshahi Warriors, and Noakhali Express—competing across three cities: Sylhet, Chattogram, and Dhaka. A total of 34 matches will be played. The opening day sees Sylhet Titans vs Rajshahi Warriors in the afternoon, followed by Noakhali Express vs Chattogram Royals in the evening.

Following the Sylhet leg, the tournament moves to Chattogram before concluding in Dhaka. All play-off matches will be held at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, including the Eliminator and first Qualifier on 19 January, the second Qualifier on 21 January, and the final on 23 January. Reserve days are scheduled to accommodate any unexpected delays.

Sylhet is expected to provide a lively home crowd, while fans nationwide can catch matches in both afternoon and evening time slots. Despite recent off-field challenges related to franchise management, excitement among players and supporters remains high. The BPL continues to serve as a crucial platform for domestic talent to showcase their skills alongside experienced players.
