Tigresses to End Their World Cup Journey Against India

Bangladesh will play their final group match of the Women’s ODI World Cup against India. While their semifinal dream has faded, Nigar Sultana Joty’s team is eager to finish the tournament with pride and victory.

Having drawn an ODI series against India at home, Bangladesh will look to recreate that fighting spirit away from home. The match is scheduled for Sunday (October 26) at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium, starting at 3:30 PM Bangladesh time.

Throughout the tournament, Bangladesh’s batting has been inconsistent. The bowlers have done well to contain opponents, but the batters have failed to maintain momentum. After opening with a victory against Pakistan, Bangladesh fought well against South Africa, New Zealand, and England before losing narrowly to Sri Lanka.

The team will rely on Joty, Fargana, and Shobhana to stabilize the batting, while Marufa, Nahida, and Trisha will need to strike early with the ball.

India enters the contest in great form. Smriti Mandhana scored a century in the last game, while Pratika Rawal and Jemimah Rodrigues have also contributed consistently. Their bowling unit—led by Deepti Sharma, Kranti, and Renuka—has been in rhythm. Playing at home gives India an advantage, but as always, a Bangladesh-India encounter promises extra thrill and emotion.
