Khaled Mahmud resigns as BCB director

Former Bangladesh captain Khaled Mahmud Sujon has resigned from his post as Bangladesh Cricket Board director.Mahmud submitted his resignation to the board Wednesday but the reason for his departure was not revealed.

The decision brings to an end Mahmud’s long affiliation as director of the BCB.Earlier this month, another former Bangladesh skipper Naimur Rahman Durjoy resigned from his post as BCB director.

With the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government on August 5, Nazmul Hasan stepped down as BCB president while Shafiul Alam Chowdhury resigned as chairman of BCB’s women’s wing.The duo however, did not give away their position of BCB directors.

Jalal Younus, who had come to the BCB with National Sports Council nomination, resigned last month as BCB director following appeal from NSC.Veteran sports organizer Ahmed Sajjadul Alam Bobby had also come through NSC but he refused to resign and was later removed by the sports council.

 

In place of Jalal and Sajjadul – Faruk Ahmed and Nazmul Abedeen Fahim made their way to the board as directors before Faruk emerged as the new BCB president on August 21 to end Nazmul’s long tenure as chief of cricket’s governing body in the country.
