Former Pakistan captain and analyst Ramiz Raja has launched a sharp critique of the current state of the Pakistan Test side following consecutive whitewash defeats against the Bangladesh national cricket team. Speaking in a detailed YouTube analysis, he highlighted deep structural weaknesses across fitness, bowling depth, mental resilience and long-term planning.
Ramiz Raja argued that long-standing issues in Pakistan Test cricket have now become impossible to ignore. According to him, the absence of meaningful reform risks pushing the team further behind the evolving standards of international cricket, reducing their ability to compete consistently at the highest level.
He also drew attention to the progress of Bangladesh, noting that the gap between the two sides has narrowed significantly in recent years. Bangladesh, he observed, now play with greater confidence and tactical clarity, and are increasingly capable of challenging Pakistan not only at home but also in overseas conditions.
A major concern raised by the former skipper was the lack of intent and aggression within the Pakistan setup. He criticised the bowling unit in particular, stating that it lacks both variety and a clear tactical blueprint. In his view, this deficiency becomes especially damaging in Test cricket, where adaptability and sustained pressure are crucial.
Fitness standards across all departments also came under scrutiny.
